Injection Moulding Setter – Weekend Nights
We’re supporting a large, high-volume injection moulding manufacturer operating in the packaging sector, supplying critical components into FMCG and industrial markets. This is a well-invested site with modern machinery, structured processes, and a strong emphasis on consistency, safety, and uptime. They’re now looking to appoint an Injection Moulding Setter to cover a Weekend Nights shift pattern, offering long-term stability and a compressed working week.
Salary & Package
- £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Night shift premium built into the structure
- Stable, long-term role within an established manufacturer
- Compressed working pattern offering genuine work–life balance
Shift Pattern
- Saturday & Sunday: 12-hour night shifts
- Plus: 1 additional 8-hour shift, completed on a day of your choosing
- Ideal for candidates wanting maximum earnings with fewer working days
The Role
This is a hands-on setting role within a fast-paced, high-output injection moulding environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring machines are set correctly, processes are stable, and production runs efficiently throughout the shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tool changes and machine setting on injection moulding machines
- Setting and optimising processes to achieve cycle time, quality, and output targets
- Carrying out first-off checks and supporting ongoing quality control
- Fault finding and basic process troubleshooting on the shop floor
- Working with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
- Ensuring safe working practices and adherence to site procedures at all times
You’ll be trusted to manage your area with minimal supervision — this is not a hand-holding role.
Machinery & Materials (Typical Environment)
- Modern, high-tonnage European and Japanese injection moulding machines
- Automated cells with robotics and downstream handling
- Processing of polyolefins and engineering polymers commonly used in packaging applications
- High-cavitation tools, fast cycle times, and repeat production
Experience doesn’t need to tick every box, but you must be comfortable in a high-volume, process-driven moulding operation.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter (or strong Adjuster stepping up)
- Confident with tool changes, machine setting, and process stability
- Able to work independently on nights and make sound decisions
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking responsibility for your shift
- Strong awareness of quality and safety standards
Desirable (but not essential):
- Background in packaging, FMCG, or high-output moulding
- Experience with automated or robotic moulding cells
The Bigger Picture
This is a role for someone who likes structure, knows how to keep machines running properly, and doesn’t need to be chased. If you’re a Setter who values consistency, decent kit, and a shift pattern that actually works, this one makes sense. Get in touch with 5S Recruitment as soon as possible.
