Are you an experienced, time-served Injection Mould Toolmaker looking for your next challenge? Join our client’s bustling mould shop in Sutton Coldfield, where the focus is on delivering high-quality tools for the automotive industry. This is a diverse and demanding role that offers the chance to work on a variety of tools, from small intricate components to large-scale moulds.
The Role:
- As an Injection Mould Toolmaker, you will be crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of tools to meet demanding production schedules. You’ll be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of plastic mould tools, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Manufacturing, maintaining, and refurbishing plastic mould tools to ensure they are always in prime condition.
- Fault finding and tool approval
- Modifying both new and existing tooling as required.
- Responding to machine/tooling breakdowns
- Swiftly, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintaining rigorous Health & Safety standards
- Following all company policies and procedures.
- Managing relevant documentation to ensure all records are up to date and accurate.
- Operating lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Upholding high housekeeping standards in the toolroom.
- Undertaking further training as necessary to keep your skills sharp and up to date.
What We’re Looking For:
- The ideal candidate will be a time-served Toolmaker with substantial experience in the plastic injection moulding industry.
- You should be proficient in operating a range of machinery, including lathes, drills, grinders, milling machines, and spark eroders.
Additionally, you will need:
- Expertise in CAD/CAM-based software for tool design and modification.
- Experience with precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, gauges, and vernier callipers.
- A proven track record in working with multi-core and cavity tooling
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to the broader team strategy.
- Excellent bench hand skills and the confidence to work from detailed engineering drawings.
