Plastic Injection Mould Toolmaker
Are you an experienced Toolmaker? My client is a leader in the industry and is expanding their team in Nottinghamshire, i am looking for a Plastic Injection Mould Toolmaker with dedicated bench working skills as well as some CNC abilities. Most of the work will involved maintenance, repair and modification.
Package:
Competitive Salary: c£40,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
Your Role:
As a Plastic Injection Mould Toolmaker, you’ll be the backbone of our client’s Toolroom operations, maintaining and enhancing tooling to keep production running smoothly. You'll be collaborating with the production team and other departments, and will play a crucial role in identifying areas for improvement within the PPM system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service tooling to ensure optimal condition.
- Work closely with production and other departments to streamline operations.
- Identify and implement improvements within the PPM system.
- Assist in the training of new starters and apprentices.
- Operate conventional and CNC toolroom machinery daily.
- Work with valve gate hot runner systems.
- Adhere to Health & Safety standards including COSHH, Abrasive Wheel, and Manual Handling procedures.

Essential Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Toolmaker.
- Experience in Plastic Injection Moulding within a Toolroom setting.
- Proficiency in PPM and the use of conventional and CNC toolroom machinery.
- Familiarity with valve gate hot runner systems.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices including COSHH, Abrasive Wheel, and Manual Handling.
- Competency in spark erosion.
- Computer literate with experience in Microsoft packages and the ability to quickly learn bespoke systems.
Desirable Skills:
- In-depth understanding of COSHH, Abrasive Wheel, and Manual Handling safety practices.
- Advanced IT skills and the ability to navigate bespoke software systems.
