Senior Toolmaker – Injection Moulding | Worcester | £40,000 + Benefits
We are working with a well-established and globally recognised manufacturing business within the engineered plastics and precision components sector, currently looking to strengthen their toolroom team with the appointment of an experienced Senior Toolmaker. This is a hands-on, technically driven position where you will take ownership of tooling from concept through to production support in a fast-paced, well-invested environment.
The Role – Senior Toolmaker
As a Senior Toolmaker, you will be responsible for designing and manufacturing jigs, fixtures, electrodes and prototype tooling using a range of toolroom machinery. You will utilise CAD/CAM systems for toolpath generation and CNC programming, ensuring efficient and accurate machining. The role will involve operating CNC, EDM and conventional toolroom equipment while maintaining high standards of precision and quality. You will carry out maintenance, repair and modification of complex injection mould tools, supporting production through tooling improvements and fault resolution. You will work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams on project-based activities and provide technical guidance across the shopfloor. The position also includes supporting the wider team with training and offering supervisory cover when required, maintaining full familiarity with all toolroom activities and systems.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a time-served Toolmaker with a minimum of five years’ experience within a toolroom environment. A recognised apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant discipline is preferred. You will have a strong background in injection mould tool repair, modification and optimisation, along with experience in CAD/CAM and CNC programming. You should be comfortable working within a fast-paced, production-driven environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
What’s On Offer
The role offers a competitive salary in the region of £35,000 to £42,000 alongside a strong benefits package including private medical cover, life assurance, company pension, health and wellbeing support, cycle to work scheme and on-site parking. This is a stable, long-term opportunity within a well-invested manufacturing environment, offering genuine technical variety and autonomy rather than purely reactive toolroom work.
Why This Role
This is a business that understands the value of a strong toolroom. You will be joining a team where tooling is treated as a critical function within the operation, not an afterthought. If you are a Toolmaker who is comfortable both on the bench and working with CAD/CAM systems, and you take pride in delivering high-quality work rather than quick fixes, this opportunity is well worth exploring.
