Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm
- Overtime available and paid at enhanced rates, including weekend work when required.

The Role
As Injection Mould Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, modification, and continuous improvement of a wide range of injection mould tools supporting a fast-paced production environment. Working within a skilled Toolroom team, you will ensure tooling remains in optimum condition, minimising downtime and supporting the efficient manufacture of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, repair, and modification of injection mould tools.
- Diagnose tooling faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise production downtime.
- Strip, inspect, repair, and rebuild mould tools to a high engineering standard.
- Operate manual centre lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and universal grinding equipment.
- Support production teams with tooling breakdowns and technical troubleshooting.
- Maintain, repair, and fault-find hot runner systems.
- Identify tooling improvements to enhance reliability, productivity, cycle times, and product quality.
- Support tool trials, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prioritise workload effectively across planned maintenance and reactive repair activities.
- Maintain accurate tooling records and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards and procedures.
About You
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker with strong injection moulding experience and a practical, hands-on approach to engineering problem-solving.
You will ideally possess:
- Proven experience as an Injection Mould Toolmaker within a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Strong manual machining skills including turning, milling, surface grinding, and universal grinding.
- Excellent knowledge of injection mould tool construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving tooling issues within a production environment.
- Strong understanding of hot runner systems.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities.
- Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive approach.
Desirable Experience
- Time-served Toolmaking apprenticeship.
- Formal Mechanical Engineering or Toolmaking qualifications.
- Experience within a high-volume injection moulding manufacturing environment.
- Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing exposure.
