The Opportunity
A well-established and growing consultancy is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of complex, high-value city-centre mixed-use developments.
This is a role for someone who can already operate independently commercially, but still has the drive to push toward Senior QS / Associate level.
You’ll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle from early-stage cost planning through to final account on projects that actually test your commercial ability.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of cost plans, estimates, and feasibility studies
- Supporting procurement processes (BoQs, tender analysis, contractor selection)
- Managing valuations, variations, and change control
- Ongoing cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting
- Supporting delivery across mixed-use developments (residential, commercial, retail, leisure)
You’ll be working in live project environments, not sat producing reports in isolation.
Project Exposure
- Complex city-centre developments
- Mixed-use schemes including:
- Residential
- Commercial / Office
- Retail & Leisure
- Public realm
Involvement in risk reviews, value engineering, and cost optimisation — proper commercial exposure.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engaging with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Contributing to meetings, site discussions, and workshops
- Building strong working relationships through clear, proactive communication
What We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
- 5+ years’ experience within cost management / commercial roles
- Experience within mixed-use or complex developments (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Confident in:
- Cost reporting
- Variations
- Procurement processes
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
