Night Shift Supervisor – Plastics Manufacturing
- Location: Yaxley, Cambridgeshire
- Shift: Monday–Thursday, 17:45 to 06:00 (4 nights)
- Pay Rate: £19.24 per hour + £50 weekly shift allowance
- Type: Full-time | Permanent
With a 60-year heritage in UK manufacturing, our client is a market leader in the production of high-quality plastic components and systems for multiple sectors. They are now seeking a skilled and proactive Night Shift Supervisor to take charge of operations within their plastics department.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader with an injection moulding background who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is confident managing both people and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night shift production team, ensuring output and quality targets are achieved.
- Oversee machine and tooling performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Train, mentor, and support operators in machine set-up, operation, and production processes.
- Conduct regular quality checks, ensuring all parts meet customer and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Provide clear reporting and handovers to day shift management.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes and machinery.
- Skilled in machine set-up, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and safe working practices.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
