Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts:
• Mon–Thu: 06:00–13:30 / 13:30–06:00
• Fri: 06:00–12:00 / 12:00–18:00
Probation: Day-based hours for training (08:00–17:00)
The Opportunity
A long-established, global manufacturing business is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join their expanding operation. This is a hands-on, fast-paced maintenance role supporting automated assembly cells, injection moulding equipment, hydraulic presses, conveyors, and wider site services.
Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, you will play a key part in fault diagnosis, breakdown response, root cause analysis, planned maintenance, and electrical installation works across a busy manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery.
- Carry out maintenance on automated cells, moulding machines, hydraulic presses, and conveyors.
- Complete electrical installation work, including armoured cable runs, lighting, power and panel wiring.
- Support PPM schedules across factory services and equipment.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and plant.
- Identify emerging issues and propose corrective actions.
- Contribute to improvements within the maintenance department.
Skills & Experience
- Strong multiskilled background with electrical bias.
- Proven experience within fast-paced manufacturing or production environments.
- Skilled in fault finding, diagnostics, and hands-on problem resolution.
- Experience with injection moulding, presses, conveyors, or automated assembly machinery is beneficial.
- Competent with single and 3-phase systems, installations, and panel wiring.
- Exposure to PLCs and HMIs (fault finding level).
- Able to work proactively, communicate clearly, and operate as part of a driven maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical or Multiskilled Engineering.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Additional mechanical training or experience preferred.
