The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and site equipment, ensuring machinery reliability, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing facility.
This is a true multi-skilled role where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.
- Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions.
- Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.
- Maintain motors, drives, conveyors, mixers, pumps, gearboxes, sensors, control panels and production machinery.
- Work safely on electrical systems including inverters, contactors, relays, safety circuits and control equipment.
- Carry out mechanical repairs including bearings, chains, belts, pneumatic systems and general mechanical assemblies.
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement activities.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the CMMS system.
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to maximise machine uptime.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with experienced Maintenance Engineers from manufacturing environments including:

- Injection Moulding
- Extrusion

- Food Manufacturing
- Packaging
- Chemical Manufacturing
- Automotive
- General Manufacturing
You'll ideally have:
- Apprentice trained or recognised engineering qualifications.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering.
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
- Good mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience working on automated manufacturing machinery.
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding (fault diagnosis rather than programming).
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
