Shift Maintenance Engineer
Salary - £46,500 - £54,000

Shift Pattern:
• 2 days, 12‑hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• 2 nights, 12‑hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Followed by 4 days off
Position Overview
You’ll join a tight-knit team delivering top-tier maintenance services across multiple sites within a high-output Manufacturing & Distribution Centre. Your mission: keep production humming by ensuring every piece of kit (especially injection moulders and robots) is in action, on time. Continuous improvement’s not a buzzword—it’s part of your shift.
Key Responsibilities

Provide swift, cost-efficient breakdown support to keep machinery running

Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on injection moulding equipment (mechanical/hydraulic/electrical/pneumatic)

Carry out calibration, alignment, installations, and full overhauls during downtime

Diagnose faults on moulding machines and robots—then fix them

Plan and execute annual maintenance schedules

Supervise contractors when required

Keep meticulous records of all maintenance activities

Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tasks across production lines

Evaluate equipment’s fitness-for-purpose and recommend replacements or repairs

Support wider site operations as directed by Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Ensure all work follows safety protocols and holds necessary authorisations
Required Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems

Strong fault-finding skills—especially on injection moulding machines & robots

Good working knowledge of PLCs and automation systems

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering

Previous maintenance experience in injection moulding an advantage

Comfortable working in a shift environment and handling emergency call-outs

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
