Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE + Shift)
Shift: Flexible (Days / Double Days / Nights available)
The Injection Mould Setter Opportunity
This is a hands-on Injection Moulding Setter role within a well-established, family-run technical moulder with over 60 years of manufacturing history.
You’ll be joining a business that operates across thermoplastics, thermosets and injection moulding under one roof, supplying into demanding sectors including aerospace, defence, electronics and scientific markets.
This is a proper shopfloor role—focused on tool changes, process set-up from scratch, and keeping production stable and efficient, not just button pushing.
The Role
As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be responsible for the preparation, setting and running of moulding jobs, ensuring parts are produced to quality, cycle time and cost targets.
You’ll be expected to take ownership at the machine, from tool hanging through to process optimisation and fault finding.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out full tool changes – hang, secure and commission moulds into press

Set machines from scratch to achieve correct processing parameters

Optimise cycle times while maintaining quality and consistency

Work from and update setting sheets / SOPs for all jobs

Conduct first-off inspections and ensure parts meet specification

Troubleshoot issues at the press – process, tooling, or material related

Manage material loading, purging and changeovers

Remove and stage tools post-production safely and efficiently

Monitor machine performance and react to downtime, faults or deviations

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, H&S and organisation

Support continuous improvement activities (cycle time, scrap, efficiency)

Assist with basic maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, checks)

Complete all relevant production and quality documentation

Contribute to 8D/problem-solving processes when required

Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter

Strong understanding of processing from scratch (not just following sheets)

Confident with tool hanging, changeovers and troubleshooting at the press

Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards

Good understanding of materials and processing behaviour

Ability to read drawings, specs and production documentation

Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Experience with Demag machines

Previous exposure to lean manufacturing / continuous improvement

Basic supervisory or mentoring experience

Understanding of H&S and manufacturing compliance standards
