5S Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly successful manufacturing business in the recruitment of an experienced Injection Mould Setter / Supervisor for their permanent night shift operation in Yaxley.
This is a hands-on supervisory position and would suit an experienced Injection Mould Setter, Senior Setter, Technician, Team Leader or Supervisor who combines strong technical moulding knowledge with the ability to lead people and take responsibility for the performance of a busy production shift.
This is not a position for someone who has moved completely away from the machines. The successful candidate will understand injection moulding from the shop floor upwards and be comfortable supporting operators, resolving production issues, monitoring performance and making sure the shift runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role
As Injection Mould Setter / Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the effective running of the night shift within the plastics department.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the night shift production team and ensuring production targets are achieved.
- Providing hands-on leadership and technical support across the injection moulding operation.
- Supporting operators with machine settings, production processes and quality requirements.
- Monitoring machine, process and production performance throughout the shift.
- Identifying machine, tooling and process issues and ensuring problems are resolved or escalated quickly to minimise downtime.
- Supporting efficient machine setting and injection moulding processes across the department.
- Monitoring production output, downtime, rejects and quality performance.
- Training, developing and supporting operators to improve capability across the shift.
- Ensuring routine production and quality checks are completed correctly.
- Making sure production paperwork, records and shift handovers are accurate and completed on time.
- Prioritising workload and making effective decisions when production issues arise.
- Working closely with engineering, tooling, quality and management to maintain production performance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and organisation throughout the moulding department.
- Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices are followed throughout the shift.
The Candidate
To be successful in this Injection Mould Setter / Supervisor position, you will ideally have:
- Strong experience within plastic injection moulding.
- Previous experience as an Injection Mould Setter, Technician, Senior Setter, Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience within an injection moulding manufacturing environment.
- A strong technical understanding of injection moulding processes and production requirements.
- Good knowledge of machine setting, process optimisation and fault finding.
- The ability to identify machine, tooling and process problems and make appropriate decisions.
- Experience monitoring production performance, cycle times, downtime, scrap and quality.
- The confidence to lead, support and develop production operators.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to prioritise effectively within a busy production environment.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with production, engineering, tooling, quality and management.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and reducing downtime.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Good computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate production records and shift handovers.
