5S Recruitment is working with a well-established plastics and rubber manufacturer operating within the medical device sector, looking to recruit an experienced Injection Mould Setter. This is a clean, controlled and quality-driven environment where process stability, traceability and consistency are critical. It suits someone who understands disciplined moulding and takes pride in running machines right first time, not constantly firefighting. The Role of Injection Mould Setter
- You’ll be responsible for supporting production through effective setting, process control and maintaining high standards within a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
- Carrying out tool changes, machine setup and process adjustments to minimise downtime.
- Starting machines using setting sheets and stored data to achieve required cycle times and quality standards.
- Performing purging and remedial tasks in line with production priorities.
- Setting and adjusting ancillary equipment including conveyors, mould heaters and dosing systems.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across moulding and cleanroom areas.
- Identifying and reporting moulding or tooling issues, supporting fault finding and resolution.
- Ensuring full material traceability, line clearance and accurate documentation in line with medical requirements.
- Carrying out routine maintenance on machines and ensuring tooling and temperature control equipment are kept in good condition.
- Supporting continuous improvement activity across production processes.
About You
- Previous experience as an Injection Mould Setter or within an injection moulding environment.
- Ideally apprentice trained or qualified within plastics processing or a related discipline.
- Experience working within a regulated or medical manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Confident inspecting parts and working to strict quality standards.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
- Comfortable working within a cleanroom environment.
