Our client, a reputable and innovative plastics and rubber manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Injection Mould Setter to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. This role is integral to maintaining seamless production processes within their state-of-the-art facilities, specialising in medical device components. Responsibilities
- Carry out tool changes, machine setup, and adjustments to minimise downtime and optimise production efficiency.
- Implement machine start-ups using setting sheets and stored data, ensuring cycle times and quality standards are achieved.
- Perform purging and remedial tasks on injection moulding machines as directed by production priorities.
- Set-up and adjust ancillary equipment such as conveyors, mould heaters, and dosers to maximise operational performance.
- Maintain a safe working environment and uphold high standards of housekeeping in the moulding and cleanroom areas.
- Report and troubleshoot injection moulding or tooling issues to the Production Controller or Manager, supporting resolution efforts.
- Ensure line clearance, material batch traceability, and documentation are accurately maintained, particularly for medical device components.
- Perform routine maintenance on injection moulding machines and keep tooling, dosers, and temperature controllers clean and organised.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
Requirements
- Apprenticeship or similar qualification in injection moulding or a related field, ideally with experience in medical device manufacturing.
- Practical experience as an Injection Mould Setter or within an injection moulding environment.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and ability to inspect parts to quality standards.
- Good organisational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all organisational levels.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and comfortable working in a cleanroom environment (desirable but not essential).
- Flexibility and teamwork-oriented approach to manage workload effectively.
